I pulled the 300 out of my 85 f150 this weekend, and found my vacuum leak, the intake was cracked near the rear of the engine. The question I had was that I am replacing the clutch, because it was slipping very badly and the ring gear on the flywheel is notched, can I replace just the gear or do I have to replace the whole flywheel?
Edit: Also where is a good place to buy intake amnifold/exhaust manifold bolts? Summit didn't have any labeled as 300 compatible, what is the thread spacing/size on these?
thanks
Sean

Take the bolts to the hardware store and match them up. A good place to get bolts cheap is tractor supply if they have what you need.
You should be able to replace the gear only. Take a hacksaw and saw the gear in two-it will pop off. Get a new gear and using a torch, gently heat the gear all the way around till it starts smoking, and then with gloves, quickly slip the gear onto the flywheel.
