Air pump remove or replace?
I have a 79 F150 460 with an air pump that is going bad. It originally had a cat but the original owner removed it years ago. Has any one just taken off the v belt? I don't want to hack up the truck removing the entire system, but one missing v belt wouldn't bother me much. I'm tempted to just change the pump but its cold outside...

When I bought my 79 in 1984 it did not have the pump belt on it and I never used it. I removed everything that was relative to it, including the pump and it always ran fine. It is a 351M, C6 with no extras.
