OK, still screwin' around with the cold weather issues and I just want to make sure I'm understanding everyone...
When I start my twuk and it's warming up I hear this "hissing" noise, kind of like an air compressor bleeding off, and even after idling for about 10 minutes or so, if I try to hold the throttle open at about 2K it will start out ok and then you hear this hiss start and the rpms drop back to 1100. I tried this at various rpms and it always does that same. Eventually it dies off and the hiss goes away.
All that to say that if I'm understanding everyone that is the ebp valve and it's actually doing what it's supposed to do? If I want it to stop this pain in the *** power sucking procedure then I need to unplug the electrical connections and everything will still run like it's supposed to and the powerful FORD overlords won't hunt me down like a rabid dog? If I have any part of this incorrect, which is highly possible, please let me know. Thanks to all!
i'd wish mine was working like that=) 30 min warmups kill me. yes, though, just unplug the connector (2 wire connector) and it'll be slow warming up just like mine =)

Plug it in for 2 hours..( easy with a timer)
Instant heat....
The amount of money you save in fuel , will easily offset the 2 hours of electricity
You can cut the wire on the plug that has a red tracer and put a switched 12 volt supply to it. then replug it in. You can then control when the ebpv actuates and also use it as an engine brake. I love mine that way. You need pics let me know.
I am having the same problem in cold weather even with keeping the truck plugged in all night. Where is the ebp and what wires do I disconnect to resolve the problem? Pictures would be great.
I have been PM'ing someone else here on this issue tonight. I don't have pics but will get them in the morning and post here. Sorry, It is dark and cold.
I'd like to see the pictures also. I've read about the folks that did this and wanted to try it myself. Cold weather makes mods less fun to do. I'll still do them, I'll just complain to my wife about the weather. That usually gets me extra coffee and hot cocoa.
Do you have a write-up on the switch install?
Edit: I also use timer during the winter. I have the timer on for 2 - 2.5 hours and that seems to warm her up for a good start. Then I'll come back in, get my coffee and lunch stuff while she idles. By the time I get to the freeway (15 minutes of in-town driving) she's ready to rock.
