Hows it going fellas. Happy Holidays. Ive got a question. My low range wont engage. I have a bw1356 elec shift. Ive been doing a lot of research on here and i think its my powertrain control module. about a month ago i was search the threads and saw one that was talking about a button on the pcm that you could push to test it. i think someone said that you could push it...if it blinks the your shift motor is bad but if it stays solid then the actual pcm itself was bad, or visa versa. Does anyone know what the light signals mean??? Any help would be much appreciated!
I wish I could help you with it but I'm unfamiliar with the electronic TCases.....truck the ? in the Offroad forum.....or PM subford...he'd probably know...Good Luck
You're a bit confused. You don't want to be looking for your PCM, that's something completely different. You're looking for the 4wd Control Module. It's located under the passenger kick panel.
Upon remove you'll see it, little black box with a red light and white button. Remove the 5 pin and the 8 pin connectors on the bottom, turn your key to ON, and push the white button. If it blinks repeatedly (about 1 blink per second), then it's good. If it has lights up solid for several seconds then it's shot. Report back and let us know what you find out brother.
Damn physics students....friggin know it alls......there's your answer and your clarification....can't believe it came from Chris though.Let us know how she turns out.Luck
