manifold interchange

I have a 1986 Ford F-250 truck with a 300 6 cylinder motor.

Having a lot of problems with truck but the other night while searching for exaust leak noticed that manifold was red hot and then saw flames exiting a crack.

After several days searching I have found only one truck with a 300 six that has an exaust manifold. I will go monday and take it off the truck.

My question is will this manifold from a late seventies or early 80s truck fit on my 86 block??? I do not care about the various tubes coming off the manifold for egr etc... fitting cause I can deal with that, what I want to know is if it will bolt up right to the cylinder head and can I use 86 intake and exaust gaskets.

Thank you

I have a 77 300 6 that had the single setup. I put a twin setup from a late 80's on with out a problem.

The manifold should fit without a problem but I think you will still have trouble with it getting red hot and possibly cracking again because it sounds like the timing needs adjusted, the exhaust valves seem to be staying open to long. That could be the cause of all your problems.
