Ya i have a 2001 psd dually and i just put a pro-comp 6.5'' all spring lift on it and i was wondering if it would be ok to add 2.5'' shackles to the front to level it out a little bit better. right now it sits just about 2.75'' higher in the back. I was just wondering if it would be ok or if theres anything else you guys would recomend.
I have seen the shackles on ebay, but can't provide any info as far as good or bad. I suppose you could also install a spring hanger (not really sure what they are called) leveling kit as well. I am pretty sure Procomp makes one. Sorry I'm not a wealth of information. Someone else can probably chime in with more useful info.
ya i bought them at les shwabb and had them on the truck before i lifted it. i just was thinking that they might put the driveline at a bad angle and maybe the steering?
If you do the shackle only you change the pinion angle too much. I would get a kit with hangers and shackles. Also make sure your brake lines will be long enough in the front. Rubicon Express will sell just shackles and hangers, they run about $275. Hangers are built really strong.
thanks man i didnt know they had super duty parts. i think i will order that on monday. one more question is my trac bar and pitman arm gunna be ok since i have the 6.5" kit?
Track bar should be adjustable to handle that lenght. Thier shouldn't be too much of a difference on pitman arm, if you develope too much bump steer you may have to change it. They say anything over 8" and you might need crossover steering.
