Maybe a problem soon
This is just to let ppl know that the rear clutch pack in the limeted slip rear ends in certian Ford Pickups are faulty mines a 2000 and the clutch pack failed i've had it to the dealership its covered under warenty (mine anyways) the service rep said at that dealership alone 45 trucks have been fixed with this problem already i havent had time to get mine in but to be totaly honest im not impressed over the over all reliability of this truck, i owned an 89 bronco 2, for 4 yrs and had less problems with it then i've had with my 200 that i've had for a year (1st owner). Im always goona be a ford lover but its hard to stick up for my truck to those (unmenchonable brands) when what they say is almost true... hell the uper and lower ball joints went on the drivers side (under warenty) it was a cost of like $1500 plus some other recalls i've had and i've been through 2 CD decks oh well i've herd things of poor quality control im seriosly thinkin of trading for a 2001 or 2002 anyone had probs with theres ??
2000 F150 Extended Cab 4x4 Sport, all black 5.4L
They are Clutch disc's, so they do wear out.
I love these trucks, maybe U are too hard on them???
All has to do with MPG imposed on Ford, lighter is better for Mileage.
Trucks are weaker.
My 1978 is a tank compared to my 98.
The Pro78
I assume that when the packs go bad you start getting the rumble from the rear end at start ups?
