FYI, my 3 year-old poured soda pop on the dash of my 2002 F150 and my TCIL is flashing now and tranny will not go into overdrive. Also headlights will not turn off. I am troubleshooting today.
I'm not sure how they did it but they reset the computer because it was showing a code for the VSS and I had just replaced it.... Later on that day the light came on flashing again so I took it back to the dealer and they found that it was an electrical problem and the cause of it was the superlift truspeed that the previous owner installed on the truck to recalculate the speedometer and odometer for the larger tires. That explained the jumping speedometer and the odometer cutting out. I'm not sure what could be causing your problems but just check fuses and look under your dash by the steering column for any shorts. If the light is flashing the computer stores the code for a month so if you know someone who has a computer that can read the transmission codes that could help out a lot.
This just happened to me. and all I was towing was a Nice car trailer, and a honda CRX, so not even close to what normal towers tow. but it was up a grade at like 35 mph, so nothing crazy. didn't even have the OD on. all I did was pull over turn the truck off, and it seem to reset it self. drove the rest of the way home with no issues (truck wise)
will check codes tomorrow to make sure if any thing was thrown.
