78 c-6 pump just quit?
i bought a "good used c-6" from a guy who bought a two drive for parts. Swears is shifted up and down fine right up till he parked it. Truck shows 80miles on it from a retired guys.
My belts are toasts, so i buy this one for 150, put new seals in it and a gasket kit, pan looks good on the inside.
put it in the truck and the pump whinnes and does nothing so fluid level doesn't change and no shifting of course.
do pumps just fail? anything i did.
ii have re and re my 4x4 a few times with no problems.
i am planning on 0utting my pump in this tranny but it still sucks.

The usual reason.
Not aligning the drive on the convertor with the pump gear.
This forces the gear into the stator support.
Put the other pump in and start again.
You better drop the pan and look for any metal.
