Some of you may recall my rambling of last week. My '89 302 was displaying many issues, least of which was spark knock under load. I did all the obvious things like adjusted timing, even filled it with 91 octane, but the knock was still present. That is when I decided to climb over top of the engine to try and see if there was a smoking gun at the KS. Low and behold, the KS is not plugged in and I could not see/find the plug. Actually I couldn't sight the sensor with a 'naked' eye, only while using a mirror.
My question is, what is the normal procedure for working on the sensor? Remove the plenum? Before I delve in and start stripping the top of the intake, I have a buddy who only weights about 120lbs. I think I'll stuff him in there to see what he can find. I am just trying to plan for the obvious and want to be prepared with a gasket if it is known that I will, in all liklihood, have to pull the plenum.
It might be easier to get to by reaching up around the transmission from underneath the truck. At least give a look and see if you think it might work.
