Depends on what you need. For lubrication and anti gel you can't beat Howes. Especially for that high quality Texas winterized (not ) fuel.
It does a great job of cleaning as well. For real nasty injectors, Liqui Moly Diesel Purge takes the cake, although that's not a pour in the tank additive.
howes is about the best for cold weather use it has a guarantee with it if it jells they will pay the tow bill they also have howes meaner power for the injector cleaner really good stuff
any truckstop just about anywhere sells howes 11.99 to 13.99 half gallon.
don't count on their towing warranty because if any water in fuel it freezes and does not warranty against water. I run it in my big trucks pays for itself in fuel mileage engine runs a little smoother and shifts better even before ulsd.
What's the Howes stuff called? I may look for that at the Napa truck center here.
Howes Diesel Treat The stuff has literally been around forever as far as fuel additives. As far as the tow gauarentee , you have to follow the instructions and register for it to apply thast means running it for a while to get all the old problems taken care of first. I've never heard of anyone who uses it all the time having a gel problem , and I used to run a big truck in the great white north and spent more than my fair share of time in -20 to -80 deg f and never gelled on Howes, I have however gelled on every other product on the market at least once.
Howes forces the water down in the tank so it takes a few tanks to get it all the old water trapped and drained by the seperator. After that, it handles it just fine.
In my part of the world the most available diesel lubricant additive is made by Kleen-Flow. It is used by almost all the industrial diesel users, I've been running it for 3 years now with no problems. Don't know if this is only a Canadian product or ??
Flying J's truck stops carries Howe's I was told about it a couple months ago and have been impressed so far. It's cheap, about 12 bucks for a half gallon, and goes a long way
