I don't think the weather will cooperate here in the northeast, but thanks for pointing this event out to us. The skies are cool to watch!

I will be going out to the high desert with the chaise-lounge and some warm clothing, as during Perseid.

An awesome natural display, better than any light show. And all it cost's is a little fuel!

I get up around 4 am, already in the high desert (lucky me) and think it will be clear, we're expecting a low of 15. Maybe I'll see something on the way in! BTW SteveBricks, (slightly OT, sorry) do you go out to watch the shuttle landings?

I used to hear them too, always seemed to be in the middle of a workday, when I couldn't drive out there. OK, back to topic! Where in the desert will you go to watch the meteor shower? We used to go to the top of Mt. Pinos in Fraizer Park. Not exactly the desert, but the highest point around.

I'll go out to the back side of the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps base to a place called Giant Rock near Landers.(Remember the earthquake)?

No houses around and no towns of any size very near,so it's pretty dark. It's a good compromise of driving all the way to Death Valley,it's only about a hour and 45 min. or 2 hour drive rather than 5 and a half or 6 hours.

How was it? I saw a handful on my way to work, but not at the same time. Anyone else see it?
