transmission intermittent slippage

I own a 94 ford f150 302 cu. in. with automatic overdrive. Not sure of the transmission. Well, to make a long story short... The transmission started to slip a little leaving a stopsign. or red light. I had the fluid changed and also the torque converter drained and a new filter put in it. The fluid was dirty but no debris in the pan. The truck ran ok for a couple of weeks and now the same problem is happening. I read about a PLMS or something like that could be the problem ,, Sometimes it feels like it jumps out of gear and then settles in. The transmission does not slip all the time, just some times.. THe most I have noticed is when it is cold, after warms up it seems to shift fine. I have not smelled any odd odor and have smelt the fluid on the dipstick and no foul odor.

I was wondering if the PLMS switch is the problem? Is it a plug and play or do you need to adjust it? Any and all responses are always appreciated and thanks in advance.
You can email me a raus5@bellsouth.net

I have 95 F150 302 4R70W tranny. Even after total tranny rebuild and new converter; it seemed to slip and howl on cold takeoff. Really gave impression of slipping. Don't overlook a bad fan clutch which won't unlock and can cause vibration. I had a new one and it was still bad. Replaced it with a Hayden/Imperial and it feels like I have a new driveline.

Could be a switch? How many miles on it since rebuilt or has it been rebuilt. It could be a valvebody issue (sticking valve) etc.. Try adding a quart of Lucas Transmission additive and see. If you use the lucas leave the bottle sealed and warm it up in a sink of hot water stuff is thick and sticky but works good

Put some Lucas additive in the transmission and after about 50 miles started shifting smooth and no slippage. Thanks to everyone that responded

I had that happen to mine...I've got the 4R70W...also known as the AODE...I did a fluid and filter change on it..was good for a bit then started again....I did another filter/fluid change and put B&M trickshift in it...been running it since with no problems.Luck
