I just bought all the parts I needed, then had them painted, and then tried countless times to put them all together.
There is some cutting, drilling and welding involved in both the truck and the new parts.
A little bit of the upper front frame was notched but not enough to damage the integrity of the truck
that's nice that the frame is "notched".....let's weaken a vehicle then we'll lift it really high! The best way to do this mod is to fabricate the two quarter panels first so they bolt on to the truck...way more time and money than I am interested in.
ya ur right xhunter, but that truck still looks amazing!! I think those fenders look good on the excursion. Especially the vents.
You can add the vents to any Superduty/Excursion. I've been thinking about it to let the hot air out . Cheaper than a hood with vents. Of course I think the hoods look good too.

The sheet metal on the 2008 Superduty where the vents go is stamped in the fender and it is indented in.

They still fit, they just don't recess a 1/4". They have the instructions and you can't tell that they are not recessed.
They look just fine not being recessed. Ive seen them on two different trucks in town and they look great. You can see the blue tape where they cut it.
