97 Expo tank issues

I recently replaced the fuel pump on my Expo and when I went to fill up, about 5 gallons of as came from the bottom. My tank stayed full though and ran just fine. My check engine light is now on and the error reading is P0455. What should I do?

P0455 is an EVAP DTC indicating a gross leak in the fuel system.

Five gallons of gas came from, where? And where did it go?

Do you have a fuel leak? DId you use a new gasket on the fuel pump unit?

Are the fuel lines connected securly?

Is your gas cap on correctly? Did you fuel up with the engine running?

I would really just like to get it to past emissions. Know of any tricks to get around this?

If 5 gallons disappeared you may have a potential FIRE HAZARD and should locate it before someone or something gets hurt.
