Just trying to figure out the whole pm thing. Do you have to have a certain amount of posts before it works? I received a message that I have one, but I get an error everytime I try.

Nope. You should be able to send and receive PM's no matter how many posts you have. Click on "User CP" at the top and you can get to your PM's in the Control Panel on the left hand side. Or, you can click on the "private messages" link below your user name.

i have the same problem.... it tells me that i dont have the correct privliges and before it used to tell me how many messages and stuff i had in the top right corner and today there is nothing

i could see that being the case but just the other day i was able to send and recieve private messages....

I hit up the administrator and was told that you need atleast 25 posts before you will be allowed to send or receive PM's. Mine was working for quite a long time (with a lot less) but just disappeared. I had about 7 messages in there. I won't know if they held in memory or not until I get enough posts.
