I have a lifted 97 F150 that is have some wicked toe-in issues. When I put it into 4wd the front passenger tire turns in. Also when I back up my front tires point at each other. Does anybody have any ides on what to look at?
Sounds very worn out. Ball joints are known to be bad with mileage and are almost a given to need replaced.
Since it is changing when going to 4wd, you can watch for movement. Check your idler arm first. It is easy to see if it is allowing the drag link to move up and down. A-arm bushing are next and will be similarly easy to see movement. The lower arms would be a final suspect. Nothing left in the front suspension after that. lol
