I'm 99% sure there is no difference between the heads on these motors, there may be a better cam in the later motor however and this would account for any power differences.
okay the only reason that i was wondering is because of an ebay listing that stated this....
"This is a complete 460 ci. engine. It was pulled from a wrecked 1994 F350 crew cab with unknown mileage. This motor was running great when the truck was wrecked. Since then it has been sitting for about 18 months. The wiring harness was taken previously, so I cound not start it before I pulled it out. It is not locked up and does turn over freely, but is sold as is. This engine does have the big valve EFI heads that the 88-92 models didn't."
Justin, nice truck in sig. I see you go to Silver Lake. You still have the banshee. I have 250r that I drag at the dunes. Only got out there once this past summer.
Maybe I'll see you out there next summer.
yeah they changed, 1992 heads had intake valves that measured 2.08, Ford used those valves until 87 and then went to 1.98, probably for emissions or MPG, then back to 2.08 in 93. i don't know if the heads are interchangable but i want to say they are the motor never really changed extremely.
