I have the above mentioned. I would LOVE to find a brother for him! I need parts so I can restore this one, and make a playtoy from the other...Questions? Comments?
I have a '59 4x4 longbed that has a bad motor in it... Couldn't get a title from the seller for it. the old 292 ran long enough to show that the 4wd worked. I don't know if it will work for you or not. I also don't Know what a fair price would be for it. The truck is here in New Mexico. the body is tired...
My apologies to all if I am not supposed to offer to sell anything in this forum.
Craig at Ojo
I'm not sure about the body style of the '59. I would really like an EXACT copy. I know they are hard to find. I've been told to search in old barns in Tennessee. Do you have a link to pics? Also, another question, What is a 'Slick'? I've heard it used frequently on this forum. Is it just a sixties Ford truck? Thanks for the reply.....
Bill, with being in thise books all the time you led a sheltered life....LOL
So named in 2000 on the original yahoo site after we left the Excell site as to what we wanted to call the club.
So named by Chuck Miller of York PA. He should have copyrighted it and be a millionaire......LOL
Slick Sixties Effies was shortend by the robed one and fearless leader of all slicks Lance to Slick 60s.
Gary Pratt of classic trucks is a member and mentioned the club Slick 60s in one of his collums and it has been a generic thing ever since. Even Ken made a consession in the header here to "Discuss the Slick 60's trucks. Thanks Ken!
Most people here are also members there. Plus the added benifit of SLick Stock every two years......
Heath and Craig the two chassis would be different. The 59 would probably have the heavier Marmon Harrington drive train I think. The 62 would be Ford 1/2 ton stuff. As far as asking who has stuff for sale I think thats OK but offering stuff in general is a no no. There is a classified section for that. I have replied to posts asking for specific items and then would send the individual a PM that way the forum isn't cluttered up. Welcome to FTE. Rich

ooops...
First Ford manufactured 4WD F Series Trucks = 1959 F100/250.
Marmon-Harrington continued to convert other Ford trucks to 4WD into the 1970's. But not the F100/250's from 1959 and later, unless a customer wanted something specific.
Hey Garbz2, I have my nose in a heck of a lot of books besides Ford parts catalogs, which I only use here on FTE.
Whatcha wanna know about: Pueblo Pottery, Hopi Second Mesa Baskets, Winchesters & Colts, the original Arizona Rangers, Wyatt Earp & Bros., American & British battleships, Maritime history, Military history, the attack on Pearl Harbor-December 7th, 1941...and etc...
30,000 + books in this house, with more arriving weekly.
I even leave the house on rare occasions, and can prove it..my two year old Crew Cab just turned 5,000 miles.

See I knew I'd better put a "I think" in there. I had gotten that from a classic trucks mag. Bill you are the knower of all things Ford. Thanks for clearing things up. So will the 59 frame go under the 62 tin without major surgery or was I wrong there too. Rich

1961 and later 4WD frames are different than the ones used 1959/60.
In fact, the 2WD frames are also different.
Garbz: Who is considered a Pearl Harbor Attack survivor?
Anyone that was in the Hawaiian Islands, specifically the islands of Oahu and Niihau (off the SW coast of Kauai), civilian or military.
On that fateful day, attacks occured all over Oahu, and one of the damaged planes crash landed on Niihau. The pilot then took control of the island, which had no radio communication with Kauai. The pilot got into an argument with one of the islanders, and shot him. All that did was make the islander madder. He picked up the pilot and slammed him into a wall. That was the end of the "Battle of Niihau."
