170k miles...maintenance
I have a 5.4litre engine in one of our workvans. The 04 E350 has been great for us. No problems what so ever. The mileage is at 170,000 miles. How long do these 5.4litre V8 engines last and how much does a rebuild cost? Also, same questions applies to the tranny...

Try the 5.4 forum as this does question does not apply to the 2004-2008 f-150's.
The engines get about 200-280K depending on how well it was cared for. Rebuilds on these most shops stay away from. Its a hard engine to rebuild and if you screw up and bore it too much past .020 the block is junk. A remanufactured engine with warranty is better. they range from 3100.00-5400.00 depending on how complete they are.
