injection driver module

I had a wire terminal burn at valve cover gasket and it took out the Injecter driver module. Where is the best place to purchase and are the ones you buy oem?
my truck is 1997 f25o 7.3 turbo.
Any help would be appreciated,

I see them all the time on ebay for much less than the dealers charge.

I bought one for a guys truck last fall for $700 from Ford.... funny thing... the truck had been to the same dealership three times for intermittant stalling, failure to start or dying when driving through a puddle.....all the dealership ever threw at it was a new CPS each time it came in with the problem... thats the only code the computer threw out there.... no one knows how to troubleshoot the old way anymore... with a multimeter and back probe needles.... I had it four days.... traced to the IDM... they dont go out often .. actually pretty rare... you can get one at a salvage yard for about 1/2 of new or maybe less

Along those same lines, I just ran a KOEO and a KOER test on my '99. Both tests yielded a "P1298 Injecter Driver Module Failure" code. My truck does run just a little rough and does not get quite the mileage it once did. I'm wondering if this could cause that kind of problem? I have never seen any other codes during testing.

2b, I would make sure all of the wiring is good. I had a burnt wire up in the harnes a foot or so from the clips, and it kept running like the IDM was smoked. Once I repaired the wires, it was good to go. I would inspect your wiring further before buying a new IDM. You can actually take the whole harness off the truck in about 45min. Disconect it from the big block on the drivers fender well, and just disconnect and label all the conections. I feared doing it, but once I did, it really was easy. and I really didn't need to label everything because it pretty much just fell back into place.

No, your problem is that your truck is not lifted, so it MUST be full of fat chicks. Kick them to the curb and your fuel mileage should come back.

Sorry man, I couldn't resist.

Fuel mileage....FPR screen, fuel filter, heavy foot, dirty air filter etc. Those are my best guess'. I wouldn't think wiring.

Good one. ACtually, I'm not sure that it's actually "running" rough. It's more like it just has a vibration that doesn't belong there. I think I'll replace the harmonic balancer and see if that helps the vibration. The loss of mileage may just be due to the fact that it has 221,000 miles on it without a tuneup.
