Changing a clutch in a 93 Explorer Sport. My first time on a Ford. I did many Chevy's. Got a few questions. One, When ordering parts I asked my parts guy for gaskets for the exhaust maniford to the Y-pipe. He said "no listing". I asked for the gasket between the transmission and transfer case. Same reply. Is there gaskets on the exhaust maniford? I'll check with the dealer on Monday for the transfer case / trans gasket. Could I just use RTV?
4 wheel drive did not work on this vehicle. While the transfer case is out what can I check? I see there are 3 things that connect. The speedometer cable, a multi-connector, and another wire. Should and what do I check with them?
Thanks for the information. I guess I'll check on how much a new shift motor will cost and maybe replace it. While the TC in on the bench now is the time to to this. I'm thinking as long as the motor is less than about $100 I'll do that.
Any advice on the exhaust gaskets? I know I can't use rtv there !!!
My parts guy has no listing for gasket from Y pipe to pipe to cat and no listing for the usual doughnut gaskets at the manifold.
