87 300 inline
This really isnt about the engine, but does anyone know what came in the rear end of the 300 inline? I have heard they are 2.73, but how many splines? The reason I ask is because I bought a 28 spline limited slip, and wanted to know if I would have to make mods to it to get it to work.

Hmm, 87, that would be an 8.8" 31 spline axle, with any ratio possible, check the tag on the diff, the ratio is the number on the bottom left. I hope you didn't buy a limited slip for a 9", it won't fit.

Thanks, its a 8.8 from a tbird I beleive. Not sure which year model. I bought it off ebay for 20 bucks, and its in real good condition. I am thinking though about putting one of the 9inchers I have on the truck anyway.
