Ya know it's muddy when...

Geez, my stalls are just a "muck pond", I need to get some sand dumped in them before too long, I thoughtby getting the cleaned out this past summer it'd let the water soak through a bit...oh well, gives me an excuse to fix the tractor to move some dirt.

Anyone have a shovel?

I think I have a shovel around here somewhere. It is probably tucked up somewhere in the rafters. It will take me a while to hunt it down. Are you going to come up here to pick it up?

PS...I guess leaking rear main seal and all, I'm gonna have to fire it up and work it some. I wonder if I can rig up an "oil dribbler system" that'll keep'er full and topped off

Now thinking about it, we used to have an old forklift that lost sooo much oil out of the front seal, my Dad cut a gallon jug in half and would wedge it in above the axle to catch it all, he got tired of dumping it every 30 minutes and adding oil, so he just started "recyling" it back in the engine.

Them FH 6 Continenntals were tough!

If you are talking about stalls for your horse, better just have some sand delivered and use a wheel borrow or even a kid's wagon to spread.

You think horses are expensive, wait until you see the vet bill and and the farrier's fees if she gets a hoof problem from too much mud.

Well, didn't go too bad, I used the scraper and pulled a lot of material next to the walkway, then spun the tractor around and "bulldozed" it to as close as I could get it, only took abuot an hour with the shovel to get it respectable...at least this stuff will hold the water better and just be soft...but not mucky-goo...

But I had a vision...I'm going to cover the walkway off the stalls and run it out about 5-6 feet into the arena and let the rain water dump in there, gonna have to actually use the Arc Welder (which I suck at) and extend some pipes up off the arena side and start laying some tin...I have a bunch left over (tin) and may as well put it to use.

Easiest thing would be to run a gutter into a drywell, but this way I don't have to buy anything and can use stuff I have on hand.

Oh well, another project in the making.

Hey, wait, that's what we'd be doing ....

Worked in ranches ... nothing new. I just have to pull out the stompers and tuck in the pants.

Let me know..... really

I got most the the material spread out...really has helped quite a bit. Looks like I'll need to take some rails down to get my tractor into a few more places though, but no rush just yet.

Heck, Clint didn't even look at my shovel

Trailer is up here as well as the engine, the bores look exceptionally good, they have some rust, but no ring groove at all, and are a standard bore...perfect to take it .030, looks like it'll be a real nice block.

I tossed a piece of blue tarp over it, when you get here you can clean it up and preserve it some, then we'll figure out a place to put it till you're ready for it.

Sorry to leave you guys with my junk trailer - I knew it was shakey when I went up there but thought it would be OK. I did notice a lot of slack in the coupler when I was driving.

Then Mike grabbed it and pulled it lose from the hitch - without releasing the coupler! Guess I was lucky not to have lost the trailer on the way up. Anyway, it is parked at his house until we get a different coupler installed.

Also, I sent the original 2bbl air cleaner, but one of the emails that was waiting for me here at home was from a guy doing an original rebuild on his - wants to make a show truck. Anyway, if you are not going to use it, please save it for me.
