MPG Freak Problem
Alright, I have a 2001 4X4 SOHC V6 Ranger and it has about 57k on it right now. I got it about a month ago and I love it!! However I noticed the mpg was not the best. Trust me, I am drivin like a normal person, no lead foot. I just put new spark plugs into it as well as a new fuel filter. Now I dropped from a 12.5 mpg to around 7!!! Please help

Do you smell gas any time from outside the cab? That kind of milage ain't right. Cripes I do better than 16 in 4x4 with my 4.0. For the hell of it, disconect the battery over night to reset the computer. Even if it doesn't cure your problem you will, after a day's usage, have fresh codes. Post them.

Something is defineately not right. You should get 16 even around town if you drive easy, and 20 or more on the hiway. For a start, check all the usual things you would for a tune-up: spark plugs, wires, air filter, tire pressure, etc.
