hey there, i got a holley 4160 i think its a 600-650 cfm, my problem is when i idle the truck kinda low like lets say 350 rpm, the idle screws are not responsive. my dad that was with me and said it was the power valve or the secondaries. im putting the seconaries out there as a last resort if its even a problem. any help would be appreciated
I believe that the 6919 has a reverse idle circuit so turning them in richens it up and backing them out leans it out. It is a 600cfm carb.
If that's the case, then the power valve may not be blown. Does it idle slower and die when you back them out quite a bit?
eh give or take 25 rpm im assuming. like i tated before it like dosent even respond much to the tuning screws. do the adjusters have a stop when they are fully out? if it does, i will start from there.
No, they will just fall out I believe. If you can back them out 5 or 6 turns with no effect, then I would suspect the power valve is blown, but they usually run really rich at an idle when this happens. I would also do the adjustments around 600-650rpm, not way down around 350rpm.
