Going down the road the other morning, I turned on the dome lights with the rolling know on the dash. As soon as I did, the stero, and the dash lights started flashing.
They quit flashing when I turned off the switch. It is intermittent.
Today, I went out to get in the truck, it wouldn't start. Granted the truck has set for 3-4 days. The battery was replaced with a new MOTORCRAFT battery on Jan. 17th, '05
The way I read the ticket, (I may be wrong), it has a 7666cc battery. (I told them that I wanted the biggest battery that they could put in it at the time). It has a 100 month battery.
The last few days it has been outside. The last 2 days the temps have been 32-35 degrees.
Any ideas ??
{P.S. I'm not a mechanic !!!!! Think I should have FORD check it out ??}
I had charged up the battery overnight, and then went to FORD yesterday to have the battery checked out. (It was 22 months old, with a 100 month warranty). They hooked it up, and checked it oout. 2 cells wouldn't come up to a full charge. Result: NEW battery, for free.
Additional check up: Am having the dome light switch checked out asap
Fat Ford Boy, The dimmer does sound like is on the way out. A bad cell can discharge a battery. It can also throw off the Alt by trying to charge too much too long killing more cells.
