well I think it was just a result from to much torque from the edge being ran on level 5 for a long time eventually it just gave out on me at an intersection luckily not on the freeway. That was 2 years ago and I just discovered a crack on my U joints last week on the same spot it broke last time. I havent driven it since, my buddy is going to fix it for me over the weekend since I cant go riding anyway cuz its gonna be crappy weather... where do you usually ride at? i see your into riding. I go almost every weekend sometimes even during the week on my buddies property.
i think i wouldve flipped a few times b4 the shaft would have actually detached itself from the rear diff. Usually when this happens the shaft destroys the undercarraige then digs in the ground and catapults your rear end off the ground.
I dont thnik u would have flipped. They did a special about this on mythbusters. The drive shaft would have entered ur cab before u would have flipped.
Oh it can flip you! Theres a reason you need a driveshaft safety loop when you run sticky tires at thye dragstrip. Its gotta catch just right, but it is a VERY real and VERY dangerous possibility. Mythbusters have been wrong about a few things, this must be one of them.
Id make sure you look at your drivetrain angles, if you keep breaking shafts something is angled wrong or you just need different parts.
1, i believe u bout them being wrong. The drive shaft thing must of been one of those experiments where everycondition counts to get the right results.

had that happen to me in a buddies Bronco didn't flip but sure did Polevault was towing a small 5x8 trailer at the time we both went what seemed like 3 feet in the air. Hell of a ride but don't want to do it again, was on the freeway at the time doing 55
