Question Opinions

I was going to take my truck in to the local dealer for a complete detail and was thinking about asking to have the computer reflashed as it has the ever popular hesitation when you touch the throttle. I'm happy with it power wise I just want to get rid of the hesitation. I was planning on getting the Edge for it early next year, and I know the Edge will take care of the throttle hesitation. Should I wait or ask to have it reflashed since it is still under warranty?

If its still under warranty and you have the time to have them reflash it than why not? Shouldn't hurt and doesn't cost anything except time.

You can ask. Updating to the latest version is always a good idea (unless your running windows ). I have gotten resistance from the dealers when asking to have this done. They might say that your truck is within spec and doesn't need the re-prom update and try and charge you outright. I went through this a while back with an '01 Expy. It had an issue with a TSB and associated PROM update and the dealer told me it would be $250 to update the PROM.

If they give you any crap let them know a PROM update is only .4 hrs according to the service manual.

I had my 04 reflashed by the dealer no questions asked. It helped take that hesitation away totally.
