Cosmetic surgeons make pretty good money "rebuilding" moms and wives that think they are "high-mileage" or for whatever reason/excuse think they need an overhaul...and they won't get any more miles out of themselves for doing so. Now rebuilding your vehicle...that is much more productive of logical results.
Thanks. '89 efi manifolds, Walker downpipe, no cat, 2 1/2" pipe, thrush turbo muffler. Straight as can be, except for the 45 degree final elbow to clear the axle and gas tank.
My set up is the same except mine turns out infront of the right rear tire with a 3 inch tip
If I could figure out how to post a video, I could show you guys how mine sounds kind of like a cummins/ tractor. I thought I could add one in myspace, but apparently it is smarter than I

I agree entirely. I'm going to save this quote for future referance! ha ha

I have a hard time trying to figure it out too. My mom does the actual downloading onto the computer. I've watched her but I still don't know how it's done. The video goes from the camera onto the computer system that supports it; from there I don't know how she gets it off of there and onto youtube. It's something like that. =\
i like the sound of these trucks. but im still kind of puzzled... if one were to compare the EFI 300 (as far as exhaust notes are concerned) to any other motor, what would be the best choice?

Either one can sound good. Like I said I think the carb sounds better. To each his own, however.
I agree, I think the carbed 300s sound better than EFIs. They have a little lope to em, with right pipes they sound pretty good. I ran my carbed 300 with open headers (yes headers not manifolds) that was an evil sound ...kinda remided me of a late model dirt track racecar. With the pipes I had on her, she had a nice deep burble at idle almost like a V8. I tried straight pipe on my 96 EFI 300 and it sounded zippy and ricey to me... yuck.
well aslong as its all in the ear of the beholder
i can get a magnaflow (i think) catback exhaust for a good price but im hesitant because i dont want a ricey sound. i just want a loud, throaty sound. im not sure if its a magnaflow or not but its the same muffler thats on my brothers chebby truck and its a def. a chambered style muffler.
I have heard a Magnaflow on a 4.0 Jeep six, it sounded really nice. Kinda reminded me of an F1 or an indy car. I am sure it would sound nice on a 300 EFI Ford.
good i usally try and compare the 4.0L jeep's and 4.9L ford's exhaust note although the 4.0L does a have totally different sound at high idle, they are made to rev. we have an 88 jeep cherokee limited at my cottage used to pull boat in/out of the water and it has a really nice sound to it. not sure what muffler is on it, doesnt look stock but i dont think theres much of an exhaust system leftXD
Anyways! people say to stay away from flow master unless you want the tiny flowmaster type sound? correct? they sound pretty good on the jeep 4.0L's
