Bill, I have never seen a Anodized aluminum grill for a 61 or a 62.........Please show me one.......I would like one of those.....
Steel and Chromed Steel Yes Aluminum No....
Give Tom at Flashback F100s in North Carolina a call, he always has a stock of NOS or desert metal steel 61 and 62 Grills.
Garbz
Hmm...well I knew the grilles were bright metal, and just assumed they were like the later models which were aluminum (parts catalog doesn't say). It's been quite awhile since I actually had one in my hand.
I Have had the painted 61 and a Chrome steel 61 grill and 62 Steel and Chrome chrome steel, but never an aluminum one for those years. The first i ran across a aluminum grill was in a 63.
thanx. yeah im familiar with which are which and such, just wondered where to look for em. thanx for the info on dealers i'll check em out. which ever i get im gunna chrome so it doesnt matter to me.

The AXLE code is on the Warranty Plate. It can be decoded here if you post it. My guess it's either 3.70-1 or 3.93-1...unless the gears have been changed.
And...it may NOT be a 9 inch. Ford from 1961/67 installed Spicer (Dana) 44's in the rear if the truck was ordered with Limited Slip.
There's another (optional) F100 rear end used 1961/67, the Spicer (Dana) 60.2. This was considered a heavy duty rear end, and this Dana 60.2 uses 5 lug 5.50" bolt circle wheels.
NOTE: Spicer rear ends have a removable inspection cover, Ford 9 inchers do not.

You aren't dumb, there's a lot of ppl that don't know where the Warranty Plate is.
No one can learn everything about their trucks overnight.
Scheiss, I never heard the term "Slick" till I joined FTE.
Warranty Plate aka the Rating Plate on later models: On the inside of the glovebox door 1961/thru early 1963, and on the left door face near the latch on late 1963's thru the 1980's.

It can be folded in half.......But not quarters....
I need the 2 lower bars cut about 3 inches past the turn signal bucket along with a chunk of metal behind the head light door.
My old gallery garbz has a shot of the custom 63 grill i made for my Pro Street truck. I want to do a similar grill for the 63 Uni. I removed the turn signal and metal shaped the lower bar to replace it.
