Fuel pump problems

I had a bad fuel pump in my truck. I had to turn the key forward and wait for it to stop running before I was able to start my truck. I have just replaced it and am having the same problem. Any suggestions on what it might be?

Need more detail. If you paid someone to do it, go back. Otherwise you could check if the fuel pressure is within spec. How old is the filter?
