ive read a lot of stuff about the dodge rumble bee vs the lightning.
as we know the rumble bee (which i almost got) is just a sexy dressed upram with stickers on it.
but all in all if u were to take on which would it be
the rumble bee or the ford
The lightning, because like you said the rumble bee is just a dressed up ram with stickers on it, the lighting goes fast and handles good, and will probably worth more someday.
Definitely the lightning! Quicker, better handling, looks better imho. Its only about a tenth of a second slower than the ram srt-10 in the 1/4. weight distribution is 53/47 too.
Rumors are still flying, but the next generation of F-150 is supost to get a new lighting. Roush is playing with an experimental 7 liter right now that was hinted at possibly being the next lighting motor.
ford needs to hurry up and destroy the damn srt-10 so mopar can get off there high horse because they barly beat the lightning and they had to use an exotic car engine to do it. just my .02 cents

They definately need to hurry up! Just alittle mods, the lightning runs circles around the srt-10. I hope they introduce it within two years, that way ill have saved up enough money to buy one
The 7 liter that Jack in the hat has makes 700 hp without forced induction, they had an article on it in MM&FF mag an issue or two back. Thers a new generation of mod motor comming out. As it stands, there's supost to be a 5.8 for the stang, a 6.2 for the F-150 and a 7 liter for the super duty as a V-10 replacement. They were hinting that the 7 liter could find it's way into a new lighting mated to a 6 speed manual. I dout it would have 700 hp like Jacks, but around 550 should do it to smaoke the ram. Roush is selling a nightmare edition 150 with around 445 hp from a blown 5.4, and 500 ft pounds of torque.

6 spd on the lightning would be great, yet another stick shift ford neglected to put in on one of their vehicles!
the big deal dodge made when they beat the lightning in the top speed was they said they didnt pull in the mirrors or remove the antenna. big whooptie do they had 2 more gears to use. hell if you put in a 5 speed instead of a 4 speed auto they would have had a better time. as far as 1/4 mile times with it being that close it could come down to the driver. dodge had nothing. if i spent that much money on something other then a lightning it better destroy it not hope i was having a good day to beat it. i guess this is my .04 cents...lol
The SRT-10 reg cab has a 6 speed manual and the SRT-10 4 door has a 4 speed automatic IIRC.
The rumble bee and the SRT-10 aren't the same truck. The rumble bee has no chance against a Lightning as it only has the Hemi. The SRT-10 has the Viper motor. THe reason I am saying this is because the thread started with talking about the Rumble Bee and turned into the SRT-10.
I would take a Lightning any day over a SRT-10 (or Rumble Bee of course). The Lightning came along way before the SRT-10, so all Dodge had to do was take the Lighting specs and make it better. Also the Lightning has shown to take more abuse (we all know that Ford builds the toughest truck). Lastly, the SRT-10 vs. Lightning in value is not even a comparison. The Lightings were around $33k new and they have held their value better than any truck (and the Harley F-150). The SRT-10 takes a $10k hit as soon as it is driven off the lot! I know a guy that bought a new SRT-10 4 door that was super pissed a year later to find out his truck dropped nearly $20k in value. Anyway, I think I've made my point.
