Running hotter than normal
My '85 Ranger 2.8L V6 has always ran on the cooler side of normal on the gauge. Reciently, it started running well above. It is not overheating, boiling over or leaking anywhere just hotter than normal. I have flushed the system and changed the thermostat and radiator cap but still have the same problem. Maybe just the gauge or perhaps a sensor, possibly water pump. Anything I am missing?

could have gotten a faulty thermostat, even though it is new. Did you check it before you put it in (put it in a pan of hot water)? I've gotten a few bad new thermostats over the years, especially since I tend to be a cheap skate...LOL...and genrealy don't buy the 'better' ones.
