Overhead Temp & Direction Display
2000 Exp. with 173,000 miles. Overhead Temp & Direction Display has gone out. Is that a bulb or an LCD board that has to be replaced? Is it dififficult to remove the overhead console cover to get at the display?

Just did mine two weeks ago.
On mine, the whole display went south so I ordered a new (used) console off ebay and scavenged the board. To remove the overhead console, open the sunglass holder and remove the lone philips screw. Then, pull down on the front of the console very firmly (it's held on by two clips). Once the front is free, slide the whole console toward the windshield and the rear of the console will clear the rear bracket. Unplug the wiring harnass from the faulty board and swap the new piece in....oh, and the compass/display is held in place by three small screws.
