8.4 Mpg
I just drove my '08 F-550 from Denver CO to Helena MT. (800 miles) My fuel consumption computer (in dash) gave me an average 8.4 MPG. There was a significant headwind most of the way. I was traveling on cruise at 70 mph most of the way (never over 75). I kinda wish I was getting the 12 MPGS some of you are complaining about, but "oh well" it is a truck!

at least they are not also stuck with V10 power, which I don't believe is even available in a truck with the capabilities of the F450 or F550.

with that milage I would think he has 4.88's. my 450 at 70mph runs 2250 rpms and averages 12. my round town and rural milage is now 13.4 hand cal. with 4.30s. Towing 16650# this summer for over 2000 miles was 8.76 hand calculated.

Yeah 4.88's. By the way my '99 V10 gets about 7-8 mpg but they are close in the race to bankrupt me.
