I recently installed a [supposedly] 300 l6 in my 1984 E150 van. I say "supposedly" because I am taking this person's word for it. As it has been proven to me that he has lied about other things, such as condition of the engine, when it was last run and compression, I would have no real reason to believe he is truthful about its displacement.
Noticing the number on the right-hand side of the block, just below the battleship, can one determine what size the engine is from that? As I am at work while I write this, I do not have the number in front of me.
Note to self: next time, do your OWN compression test, note the difference on the oil pan between a truck engine and a van engine (stupid! stupid!) and dig a LITTLE deeper to determine just when it was run last and WHERE/UNDER what it was stored in!!
