Tire help
Well guys, I am looking at getting a new set of tires for my F250 FX4 truck. I am still trying to decide on a tire and the size. I was told if I get the 305R17 and keep the factory rims that it would not be a good choice because of the tire wear. The 305s are wider than the 285 which means according to discount tire that if I got the 305s they would wear out in the center because of the pressure I am putting on the front with the ranch hand replacement bumper and the diesel. So my question is what do yall think? Should I get 285s which is what discount tire recommended or get the 305s? Anyone have any experience? How often do you rotate your tires? Looking at getting the BF goodrich AT. What yall think?

on a 7" wheel, the 285s fit better. Thats the way I went, and I'm happy with them.
BFGs are good tires, but for my money, I'm running Yokohamas now, and I like em better..but they are not quite as aggressive. They are still rated at 3305 lbs per tire, cost WAY less and ride better. So far have not had them in deep mud, but they are doing pretty good in snow and ice..I'm pleased with them.
These ar the ones I have:

We are running alot of 305's around the area I live on stock rims but the magic answer is to keep the air pressure in check and keep them rotated. As a good rule of thumb your tires should be rotated every 3rd oil changed or every 9 or 10k miles might need to do so sooner because of the weight you have on the front of your truck like every other oil change. As far as the tire you chose BFG's are a little on the soft side if you are looking at the KO's in my opion I would suggest the Cooper ST its somewhere in between an AT and a MT have had good luck with them in the past on 3\4 and 1 ton trucks
