Broken Mirror

Ok, I screwed up. I clipped the r/h mirror while backing out of my shop. Broke the lense and the circuit board under it.

Now I suppose I need a whole new unit.
Any one have a power heated mirror for r/h side of 2006 F250 SD?

Thanks

I can't remember the part numbers but if you search you should be able to find them. The bottom line is that you have to buy the outside section of the mirror. When I bought mine (the chrome one) it was about 95 bucks from y2kfordparts.com

Just the snap off section by the mirror, on the inside. Snap it off and then unbolt it.

For some applications, Ford sells the mirror head (or the glass only in some applications) separately.

Mirror head = Ford basic part number: 17723.

Mirror glass = Ford basic part number: 17K707.

you DO NOT have to remove the door panel or anything on the inside if you are just replacing the outside cover or the glass.

If all you broke was the lens and light board then you should be able to just replace the front cover. As stated earlier it is less that $100. I had to do this on my 250 and it took 10 minutes. You do not remove anything. If I remember correctly there are 4 clips behind the glass that you can reach with a long flat screwdriver. Just move the mirror glass around to get to it.

Check out the Tech folder at the top of this Forum . . . You really shouldn't have to take it off thou . . . Herre is the thread from the Tech folder to make it easier for u. The mirror has two Black w/ White tracer wires attached to it at the bottom for the heating element. They just slip off to accept the new mirror.

There is also instructions as to how to take off and attach the mirror as you can easily pull out the two Adjustment pieces from the motors, which are encased in red boots for protection. I'll see what I can come up with as I have the pdf files but they aren't posted anywhere here that I know of.
