I am not sure if this is some kind of record, but my auto hubs on my 92 F150 finally died. They are original and I have 451,000km on the truck now. I was looking to replace them with another set, but the price of the manual hubs is so much less.
I sure can't complain about 15 yrs of service and that kind of miles!
I have the push button 4x4 and auto locking hubs on my ranger. with 180,000 on it now and everything still works fine. Although, the 4x4 button was giving me a hard time one winter, a swift blow of the hammer to the counter weight fixed that.
Actually there r allot of auto hubs out there Being used hard yet . My old trucks went at 220000 miles and they were used weekly . Like said pretty good. I know of strip mine beater truck that 4x4 is locked all time still kicking. Its the used 1 time a year one that can give fits.
But with manuals there is less to go wrong and you know they are in. I us autos yet when interstate turns to ice in 1/4 mile and you can't stop completely Its nice to not have to get out and lock hubs .
If you dont mud get what want. I know of several parts truck to get them off of . LAter
