Multi-Function Switch

I posted here a while ago about some problems i was having with reverse lights not working, bright lights not working but the low beams, turn signals and wipers all work fine. Everyone that responded pointed me in the direction of the Multi-Function Switch. Well after working like a slave since I posted the problem and my big f250 taking up the whole garage because of an expired inspection sticker I now have time off, i'm going to tackle this bird and get this thing back on the road. First i'll try and clean the old one if no luck, i'll get a new one. My question for all you ford gods is what all does this switch control, the high beams seem like a logical problem due to the mfs but the more i think of it, the more the reverse lights dont fit into the fix. I checked fuses and maybe i should check them again but i just dont think a new mfs will fix the reverse light dilemma so someone with a more superior brain than me please help one last time.

It helps if you include important details, like what year it is....

On another group I watch, someone had a problem with his headlights having a mind of their own. He had replaced the headlight switch a ouple of times, plus the pig tail. All this didn't help. Someone else said cleaning and making sure the grounds at the tail light will fix his problem. It sems that this is a main ground for that circuit.

I'm just trying to find a relationship between the high beams and the reverse lights if you will. Not that there even is one but they stopped working together, or maybe I just noticed them at the same time.

The MFS would be the problem with your high beams not working, but it has nothing to do with the reversing lamps. The Digital Transmission Range (DTR) sensor controls the reversing lamps. I would start by checking the fuse for the reversing lamps first. Good luck!
