My truck (2005 F250 6.0 CC SB 4x4 Lariat) is fastly approaching its next oil change at 98,000 miles. I will be taking it to my local dealer for the oil change and several other required preventative maintenance items. I have owned the truck for one year and 20,000 miles, so I figure I should do some of the required maintenance items beyond oil and fuel filters that might not have been done before I bought the truck. The items I plan to have them do include:
-Change Engine Oil and Filter
-Change Fuel Filters
-Change Transmission Fluid and Filter
-Change Engine Coolant
-Replace Air Filter
-Rotate Tires
Are there any other maintenance items I should have them do at 100K? What about transfer case and differential fluids?
Also, as this will be the last time in before I turn over 100K, are there any engine items I should have them inspect/look at before the engine warranty expires?
that sounds good. however, they may not want to just tear into your truck to 'inspect' it if there are no problems. unless you have a good dealer. but since you're out of warranty you can delete the egr cooler! woohoo.
Change the hoses and fan belt. If they have been on there for 100K it is a good chance they are in maypop condition. That is they may pop when you least need them too. HEHEHEHEHE Just remember I'm mostly Irish and Murphy is my first cousin. So I know that it would happen to me. I got 93K on mine and that's what is fixin to happen to mine. (all that you mentioned + hoses and belts.)
doubledee - I agree with the if ain't broke, don't fix it thought, but I would also hate to have pay full price to fix something that could have been covered under warranty. I trust the dealer pretty well, they used to be the commercial Ford truck dealer, and now they are the commercial Sterling/Ford Dealer. It's comforting to see lots of diesels on the lot and no cars.
