Changing transmission fluid

I'm new to this forum. I have a 1981 F-100 with a 3+OD manual transmission. The truck has not been driven for 2-3 years so I'm replacing components and changing fluids. My problem is how do I change the tranny fluid? The owner's manual makes reference to NPG 435 and Warner T-18. Reading other posts, the tranny sounds like an SROD with an extension. The fill plug is on the right side of the case but there is no drain plug. Reverse is left and up. Also the auto parts man said it uses about 3 1/2 quarts of 80W or 90W. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know specifics on your truck or the type of manual tranny you have, but most AT's are drained by removing the pan - carefully and slowly, no drain plug like oil.

Is that an electronic OD or is it another gear? The older 3 speeds whith OD, the OD was electric and was added as an extension to to the rear of a standard 3 speed. (You have heard of "Three on the tree." + OD) They have a 1/2" hole in the bottom that you put a breaker bar or ratchet into without a socket on. (at least mine does.) Herman
