how hard would it be to turbo a 79 400?

Depends on a lot of things. Kit or homebuilt? You any good at welding? It's a good motor to turbocharge.

I agree with Herman. The 351M/400 engine would be a terrific candidate for turbocharging due to the dismal lack of compression and the great breathing heads. A good low-RPM boosted engine would do well at sub-4000 RPM.
