valve train problem please help
I have a 77 hd 300 with custom head. The problem is the rockers keep cutting into the studs. The head has chevy LT1 springs, chevy I6 rockers, stock valvles, stock push rods. The rockers are comp cams 1.725 ratio stamped steel. This is what happened: The rocker sawed into the stud causing the rocker to slide off the valve and onto the spring retainer which caused the pushrod to eat out the guide in the head. My question is how do I stop this? Does someone make guide plates and hardened push rods?
