302 upgrades

Hey guys
I dont post very much,but a do alot of searching.My question is that I have the 302 out of the 1987 250 4x4.I just bought an rv cam and lifters but just wondered if there is any other things I could do while it is out.I dont want to change it over to mass air,I was trhinking maybe a set of heads.Any suggestions? I was thinking gt40s but not sure.Just want a little more steam.I have read lots of threads on upgrades but finding it hard to get a straight answer.I dont want to put a 351 in so please help.

By the way it already has headers and 4:10 rear gears.

You really should switch over to MAF if u want it to run right after the cam and heads upgrade.

I second that.....MAF will let you get those upgrades goin good....the Speed density system really does not like that kind of thing......don't get a 351....you've got a good 5.0 support group here and only enough 302 haters to count on two hands.Chances are you've got E7TE castings for heads...that's a good thing.GT40's can be rather expensive...i got mine for what I'd say was a steal considering the prices I've seen.The E7TE's can be ported and polished to give em more power than a stock set of GT40's....but like myself and Memorex have said....the SD is going to be very touchy and you'd be better off converting to MAF.JMO....Luck
