Is AOD A Downgrade????
I can get my hands on an AOD for either cheap or free and was thinking about getting it and rebuilding it plus adding a few goodies to it to swap into my sig truck.Would the AOD be an upgrade or a Downgrade from the AODE and it should just be a direct bolt in right?Thanks

Waste of money. The AODE is electronically controlled, so your cheap AOD will require you to fiddle with or eliminate the engine control computer. Good luck doing that.
Plus, early AODs have problems that were corrected in later models. Let me guess, this is an early model from a 6 cylinder car.... no good for your application even if the computer issue wasn't there.
Save your money and do it right.
Go to this post for all the AOD sites. One or two have all the propaganda about what cores they use ('88 and up?) etc.
