In spite of my labeling all the vacuum lines before I took them off I have two lines that don't have a home. This is an 87 4.9 fuel injected engine. The vacuum line routing label kind of helps but I have two abbreviations that I can't figure out. The truck drives fine with the two lines disconnected, but kind of lopes at idle.
The vacuum line map shows two hoses going from the 'MAN VAC' to 'FPR' and 'VRE8BER' (the '8' might be an 'E'). Anyone know what these mean? I have the other ones figured out, these don't make any sense. I've tried several different combinations all of which makes the engine run really rough or hard to start.
Manifold Vacuum to Fuel Pump Regulator , Is this hose Red ? The other hose should be black with a red stripe & it goes from the Vacuum Tree to the VRESERV , The vacuum reserve tank , it is mounted over on the right inner fender , it looks like a big juice can .
DB, this is an old Saw, but in the Public library, sometimes they have or can get the emissions book for your model year. Also it should be in a Diagram up on your hood.
Thanks everyone. I think I have the lines connected correctly now. Engine idles smoothly and performance is fine. I now have 72 miles on the new engine without any disasters or engine parts falling off. Just waiting to get to 600 miles and change the oil so I can drive it normally.
