Lift vs. Leveling Kit

Ok, my dad says he might help me get a lift or a leveling kit for Christmas. I don't want anything extreme (ok, I really do, but don't have the money), maybe just a 3-4 lift kit, but will this level my truck? If I didnt get a lift, I would want a levelin kit, but I don't know how much they'll raise the front of my truck?

Anybody have any suggestions/experience/comments?

I leveled out my 95 F150, and run 31X10.5s and I think the stance is so much better, I dont like a really jacked up truck personally, I try to keep as low a center of gravity as possible.

what size tires you want to throw under it?

if you just are going to leave the tires you have on but want the better than stock look, just go with a leveling kit. it will bump up the front and leave the rear alone. if you still want the back up some, then you can always just get some lift blocks.

i put a leveling kit on my f350, looks better with the fenders around the tires, not way up over them in my opinion.

level kits i think are advertised to raise between 1 to 2 inches. on yours i think it is just a block under the coils but not to sure.

well, as i was typing i realized that the f150's had coils, i had leafs on my 350.

i knew a guy that had just some spacers on his. the new coils are probably better. i figured for cost reasons they have spacers.

I know Daystar makes coil spring spacers, but I opted for new coils. If I remember right, I think I paid 200 for new coils and shocks all the way around, not much more than Daystar was chargin for their spacers.

Did you have to go with new shocks due to raising the front 2 inches?
How did the spring change affect the ride? Where did you purchase the springs?
I want to make the ride as soft as possible. Amost never haul any weight, or tow, but we have the biggest and most potholes in the pavement. Our weather is freeze/ thaw all winter long. It really tears the streets apart.
Thanks Frank

I went with Pro-Comp springs and ES3000 shocks, some people say that their shocks are not the best riding, but I don't mind them, I have removed my sway bars front and rear. It doesnt ride like a car, but then again, it isnt a car. for the best ride, I think people choose Bilstein shocks.

Yes, I went with 2 inch longer shocks as well. I know what you mean about the potholes. ND is the same way.

The F-350 spring will stiffen the ride up, I haul my camper so I needed a heavier load spring, these truck do look better when leveled out.

I didn't think about 350 springs, maybe I'll just go get a pair of those from a 88 F350 that I can get parts off of for free. Would the shocks off of it work for me as well? (as far as being long enough)

Do you have any rubbing going on with the 33's? Are they the ones on your truck in the gallery?thinking about getting 32's or 33's instead of 31's again, the 31's look small on my truck.

I just took leveling springs off of my F250. I couldn't get the camber within spec. and after replacing two abnormally worn out front tires, it was time to do something about it. Once I removed the levelers the front-end alignment folks were able to get it within spec. and it drives much, much better.

My two-cents...
