84 302 carb problem

I recently had the carb rebuilt on my 84 f150. When I start it, the high idle doesn't kick in and it is very cold natured. Once it is warmed up, it runs well but is hard to restart. Any ideas?

When it's been sitting overnight, go out and take the aircleaner off the carb. Reach up and push the throttle back all the way wide open 1 time. There is a door on top of the carb called a choke. This door should slam shut when you push back the throttle. If it doesn't shut, then look on the passenger side of the carb. There is a round black piece with three screws. Loosen the screws and turn the black piece in the "richer" direction marked on the plastic. If you do this while holding the throttle open, you should be able to adjust the choke door. Go ahead and adjust it till the door shuts.

Then start it and see what happens. If it's still cold natured, make sure the choke door stays closed a little longer by adjusting it. If the choke stays stuck shut, and the engine starts loading up, the adjust it "leaner".

I'll check it. The problem is the truck itn't driven often and you have to pump the pedal to get fuel to the carb.
